Benjamin Lupo or better known by his alias, DrLupo, is an incredibly popular Twitch streamer with over 3 million followers. Lupo is the captain of Team Rogue and was recently named as one of the 25 most influential people on the internet by TIME Magazine.
The 32-year-old also helped raise nearly $1 million dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital this year during a 4-hour charity stream, after which the hospital went on to name him as the Content Creator of the Year.
Lupo will serve as the face of the company, making public appearances and hosting sponsorship activations. He will be involved in all parts of the organization and will also be a key part of Rogue Nation and Junior Rogue along with having equity in ReKTGlobal.
“Rogue encompasses professionalism at its finest in the esports industry. The relationships that I’ve developed within Rogue feel like no other – the only word I can use to truly describe the feeling is ‘family.’ They’re goal oriented without losing focus on what is most important in gaming: fun. I’m excited to continue to work with Rogue and ReKTGlobal on a ton of exciting upcoming adventures, and I cannot wait to get more people involved,” said Lupo, shedding light on his decision to join the organization.
Derek Nelson CEO of Rogue said in a statement how crucial Ben was for the team.
“Ben is an integral part of the Rogue brand and has been for some time now. Negotiations of his contract extension couldn’t have gone smoother. He shares our vision for the expansion of the company’s content and the growth of the company at large. He and his wife Sam have a great relationship with our executives, staff and other players, and we’re all thrilled to keep them part of the Rogue family.”
Amish Shah one of the founding members of ReKTGlobal said: “We’re not just an esports company. We have the team but we also have the marketing and agency side of our business. Lupo’s charity work and his work with Junior Rogue make him someone who extends beyond just the main esports team.”
The legendary Fortnite gamer will be making public appearances on behalf of ReKTGlobal and Rogue alongside fellow investors and celebrities Steve Aoki and Imagine Dragons.
