An Instagram Influencer Adds Fake Clouds to Her Photos and Thinks it is Okay

A travel influencer admitted that she used photo editing software to process her pictures when readers noticed the same cloud pattern on several photos.

Tupi Saravia, a travel influencer on Instagram from Buenos Aires with over 280,000 followers confessed that she had used a photo-editing app to enhance her shots or add some clouds to the background. Tupi was confused with the incident when the screenshots with photos from her account went viral; however, she still believes she has done nothing wrong.

“I can’t believe how far this went. I used an app called Quickshot to help the composition of the photograph when the sky is burned or overexposed,” she wrote in an email to BuzzFeed News.

Quickshot is a free app that allows to edit photos on the go. It has a Sky Control feature that allows adding clouds to the background. Even though there are several patterns available in the app, Saravia always used the same as she liked it best of all.

Meanwhile, her followers and social media user seem to think otherwise. Many of the commenters were disappointed by the influencer’s approach to tweaking her shots.

“Why we end here on social media!? Faking all the photos!? I can point other users doing this, as a photographer I can’t stand this,” one user commented.

Some people were upset by Saravia’s attempts to adjust the reality as it does not seem natural and genuine.

However, Tupi Saravia insists that she has never made a secret out of the fact that some of her photos are processed with a photo-editing app.

“They were always aware of this because I never hide it. I always tell [them] the apps I use,” she said.

She is confused by a backlash and considers the whole thing as a storm in a teacup

Saravia seems genuinely confused by the negative responses.

“I really don’t see the big deal [here], I never lied about it. I have done nothing wrong, and it was never my intention,” she added.
